YMCA Swim Meet Information

YMCA Dual Meets

Our team participates in dual meets sponsored by the YMCA Northern New Jersey Swim League. Six to eight dual meets are scheduled for each team registered. Swimmers are expected to compete in all scheduled dual meets, since team points are accumulated in individual and relay events. The dual meet competition runs from November through January. A swimmer must participate in a minimum of four dual meets offered to be eligible for end of season YMCA and USS Swimming Championship meets including YMCA Nationals.


YMCA Championship Meets

The following are qualifying meets in that a swimmer must have attained a minimum time, be in good standing as a member of the YMCA, and have the recommendation of the Head Coach.

New Jersey YMCA State Championship
There are qualifying times for this meet in which a swimmer may swim up to seven (7) individual events and one relay for the weekend. This is a team scoring meet Note: This is a mandatory meet for any swimmer wishing to participate in YMCA Nationals.

New Jersey YMCA Silver Championship
This meets entry times are set for those who do not qualify for YMCA States.

New Jersey YMCA Bronze Championship
This meets entry times are set for those not qualifying for YMCA Silvers.

Y Nationals
Held in April each year, approximately 1200 swimmers from all over the United States participate in this meet. Sharks qualifying for this meet become members of our National Team.
