 | | Parent Org Mission Statement The Parent Organization is a group of parents chartered by the West Morris Area YMCA. By volunteering, the parents are letting their swimmers and the team, know they stand behind the teams efforts. This participation is formalized through the Parent Organization Constitution approved by the YMCA and managed by the Parent Organization Executive Board. It is in this way that the parents focus their efforts to guarantee, along with the YMCA, a quality competitive swim program. The Parents Organization supports the team in many ways:
- Organizing, officiating, and staffing our YMCA dual meets, and timing and officiating at YMCA and US Swimming Invitational meets.
- Distributing team logo caps prior to meet participation.
- Providing hospitality for the swimmers after each YMCA dual meet, and supporting and planning special events.
- Helping with the end of season Award Banquet and other team events (e.g., recognition events,community service projects, swim group social events, etc.)
- Posting and communicating meet job assignments.
- Providing team communication through the Sharks website maintenance, phone chains, bulletin board postings, and information distribution into team mail folders.
- Supporting fund raising efforts for our National Team.
- Helping with distribution of team suits and team logo items, such as caps, sweats, shirts, towels, etc.
- Working with the West Morris Area YMCA Sharks publicity chairperson to recognize, support, and obtain media coverage for our swimmers’ accomplishments.
