What it means to volunteer

Unlike many other organized sports Swimming cannot exists for the kids without the commitment of the coaches, swimmers and the parents. We look forward to an exciting season working with you to help our swimmers meet their goals and enjoy a fantastic, fulfilling swim team experience.

As we are a very active team and swimming is a volunteer intensive sport we are counting on you to share in the responsibilities that are required to run swim meets. We look forward to this opportunity to get to know you better and will gladly train you (or have you shadow an experienced volunteer) so that you will feel comfortable with any job that you perform. As each dual meet requires between 10 and 22 West Morris volunteers (depending on location and facility) it is expected that each swimmer’s parent volunteer will work at more than half the dual meets since that is the level of participation that is needed to share this responsibility. When specific schedule dates become available you will be asked to select 4 dual meets at which you will volunteer. Anyone who does not select meets to work will be assigned. If you are not able to work a specific meet you are responsible to find a replacement so that your duties are fulfilled at the meet.
