 | | Swimmer Behavior and Responsibility Participation as a member of the West Morris Sharks Swim Team is a privilege. All Shark swimmers should remember that their behavior is a reflection of the West Morris Area YMCA and the Shark program. Therefore, each team member represents many people, including teammates, coaches, parents, and members of the West Morris YMCA. It is expected that each and every swimmer conduct themselves in a courteous, respectful manner and be on their best behavior at all times. Swimmers will follow the following guidelines in practice or whenever representing the team:
Do:
- Be on time, ready to practice (stretching is required).
- Show respect for all Shark coaches, staff and meet officials
- Follow the designated signs and procedures for locker room behavior and facility use. This includes not only West Morris Area YMCA rules, but all rules at CCM and other facilities.
- Follow YMCA, US Swimming and facility safety rules at all times.
- Encourage their teammates.
- Follow circle swimming protocol (counterclockwise) and cooperate in
providing space for other swimmers to leave, finish,
and swim in their lane.
- Follow the four YMCA values of responsibility, respect, caring and honesty.
- Obtain permission from coach before leaving practice.
- Lock all belongings in lockers while in building and remove locks daily upon leaving.
- Swimmers bags and personal items are not allowed on the YMCA bleachers.
- Lock your lockers.
Don`t
- Bring jewelry, money, or personally special items to practice or meets.
- Eat or drink in locker rooms or pool area.
- Store food in lockers.
- Bring glass containers to the YMCA.
- Run or engage in horseplay.
- Damage any property at the YMCA or any facility used by the Sharks Swim Team.
