Swim Program
About the RANY Sharks:
The RANY Sharks swim team is a competitive year round
program. We compete in both YMCA and USA
Swim meets throughout the season. Our
fall program starts in September and continues through March depending upon the
swimmer's last championship meet. The
Sharks practice at the Randolph YMCA in Randolph and also at the County
College of Morris pool.
Our team also includes a well-designed dryland program which
includes stretching, plyometrics, body weight exercises, lifting, running, and
core body development which helps in our pool performances. This program is designed by the Head Coach
and the Physical Training department at the Y.
This program is run by certified YMCA professional physical
trainers.
Goals and Philosophy:
Our program aims to teach correct stroke technique at every
level while striving to reach each swimmer's potential. While maintaining a recognized competitive swim
program, we also seek to develop confidence and self-esteem in all of our
swimmers. We use the process of setting
goals and motivating our swimmers to achieve them. We like our swimmers to feel good about
themselves while developing positive leadership both in and out of the
pool.
Spring and Summer Program:
The RANY Sharks strongly encourage all swimmers to
participate in our spring and summer program in order to maintain their
conditioning and continue their progress toward long term goals. This program runs late April through July and
includes participation in Long Course meets.
